Welcome !¶
Welcome on the documentation website of the reflectance python package. You will find on this website information and tutorials on how to install and use the reflectance package.
New users¶
If you are a new user, look at the Get started section. It provides all the basic information you need to know about the package.
Contributions¶
We are welcoming any contributions, comments (positive and negative), ideas, etc. This is important to improve the quality of the package and its documentation. If you have encountered a bug or spotted an error, please don't hesitate to contact us by email (see below).
What is this package about ?¶
This package has been created to help with the manipulation of reflectance spectroscopic data.
What does this package provide ?¶
The package provies computational tools to ease the manipulation of reflectance data. The activities where the package provides help can be categorized in three main groups:
- Rawdata processing
- Transform the raw files produced by the spectrometer into a standardized file structure that is easier to read and which also contains metadata about the object and the analysis.
- Visualizations
- Creation of figures to visualize the spectral data and colorimetric coordinates (\(L^*\), \(a^*\), \(b^*\), \(C^*\), \(h\), \(\Delta E\), etc.)
- Transform reflectance numerical data into colored swatches
- Data manipulation
- Perform specific query on spectral and colorimetric data
- Compute mean and standard deviation values
- Compute delta values
Website structure¶
The documentation follows the structure described by Daniele Procida, which organizes documentation into four different groups (Tutorials, How-to, Explanations, References).
